Tarek Nev

The day is overcast. The interior of Tarek Nev is oppressive. The living wall is silent and the Solaviers that shoot their deadly bolts are now as still as statues. You all wonder if the Demon Gate is as adept at keeping things inside the city as it is as keeping things out. The interior is in ruins. Some buildings remain intact but others are completely in shambles, unrecognizable as to what their original purpose was. Shadows are everywhere, moving in erratic motions.

The gate behind lies open, pools of blood from the two dogs drips into the water. As you watch a large bird like creature with a trumpet like beak lands on the one of the still breathing dogs and places its beak on one ear. A loud sucking noise is heard and blood oozes from its ear down its head. The Quishad examines the other dogs, while they jerk their heads at the mysterious shadows. A trail of herbs from Kelgyrns pouch leads outside the gate, and one of the dogs starts eating the leaves.

The Seer’s grandson is sitting on the ground examining his chest and shaking his head. He mutters something unintelligible. The breastplate he was wearing glitters in the nonexisting sun. Gryk punches the herb-eating dog in the head but stays close to Kelgyrn, his eyes jerk about. Garath looks about in amazement, temporarily forgetting about his wounds. The city is vast, and ancient. Garath comments that there could be wealth of lore within these walls that could shed light on many of the theories of the Second Era. Kasha flutters about his head, looking about. She salivates and looks hungrily at the dogs.

It is hot, very hot. Yorell strips off his tunic and assists the wounded. He tends Garath with his herbs, and examines others. Then he picks up his Glaive and walks several steps into the city. No fear. The large tatoo on his back shifts curiously. The face of a jester appears, scoffing at the Demonic Gate.

The Glorious City of Tarek Nev, proof of a lost Era – holding both its treasures and its dangers. The Quishad mentions it is a city of unspeakable evil, it is suggested that you tread lightly. “We are guests, but we are uninvited. The battle opened a door to the Black Hel. We should be careful not to get lost. The Unlife is the ruler here.”
